GLENN LIGON: SOME CHANGES

The Power Plant, 2005, First edition. 198 pp., 8 1/2" X 11" (approx.)

Very good +

This illustrated catalogue in a hardcover slipcase highlights Ligon’s body of work over a seventeen-year period. Ligon's work engages with the black body politic and the history of representation, and looks at the self in relation to culture and history. Ligon, who lives and works in New York City, appropriates old visual or text-based materials to comment on issues of race, sexuality, identity, and language. The catalogue includes several insightful essays that cover a broad range of issues related to Ligon’s work, as well as a conversation between Stephen Andrews and Ligon about his body of work. This publication is a proud recipient of the 2006 OAAG Awards in the Design category. A touch of handling else clean, tight and crisp.
