FROM MY WINDOW by André Kertész (Inscribed association copy)

New York Graphic Society, 1981, First ediition, 72 pp., 8 1/2" X 9 3/4", Hardcover

Very good + (Inscribed by Kertész to his photography dealer Lee Witkin)

This book contains Kertész' only work in color; a series of polaroids of various objects taken on his windowsill with the city or sky as backdrop, reflecting on the passage of time and the death of his beloved wife, Elizabeth.

This copy is warmly inscribed by Kertész to pioneering photography dealer Lee Witkin. (Who represented Kertész from the early 1970’s through the 1990’s.)

Lee Witkin was a pioneer in the world of photography and is credited with the launching of photography to public consciousness and collector interest. In 1969 he opened the first commercial gallery of photography and broke ground for the diverse scene that is photography today.  His importance in the field cannot be overestimated.

An extremely rare and noteworthy association copy.
