Morgan Press co-founder, Douglas O. Morgan, began rescuing antique wood-types in the 1940’s. After accumulating one of the largest collection in the U.S., he and his brother opened Morgan Press Printers and Typographers in Hastings-on-Hudson, NY in 1958. Their company offered a unique typesetting service to designers that utilized their vast collection of wood type and as a result, helped usher in the antique type revival of the 1960s.
