Published between 1971 and 1982 and printed The West Coast Print Center, San Francisco, and later at the Braun / Brumfield in Ann Arbor, Michigan, This was the first self-conscious journal of what would become known as language writing.

Initially edited by Robert Grenier and Barrett Watten. Watten became the sole editor after #6.
