The exhibition, The Great American Foot, sponsored by the Kinney Shoe Corporation, was held at the Museum of Contemporary Crafts in 1978. The theme of the exhibition was to celebrate the foot and its many aspects including function, fashion, symbolism, and interpretation. MCC director emeritus Paul J. Smith identified this exhibition as one of the 10 great moments in the museum's history.
