This copy is inscribed by DeCarava to pioneering photography dealer Lee Witkin. (Who represented DeCarava from the early 1970’s through the 1990’s.)
Lee Witkin was a pioneer in the world of photography and is credited with the launching of photography to public consciousness and collector interest. In 1969 he opened the first commercial gallery of photography and broke ground for the diverse scene that is photography today. His importance in the field cannot be overestimated.
