Image System is the name of a Polaroid camera used by Geoffroy de Boismenu when he lived in the States. Between 1993 and 1995, he accumulated snapshots, most of them taken in the street. Graffiti, lifeless bodies and wrecked cars : his America, often close to chaos, turns out to be fascinating. Geoffroy de Boismenu has selected seventy-two Polaroids that he has chosen to reproduce full paged, large sized and unbound. He has hereby conceived a book that offers a double reading of his photographs.
The double pages confront two halves of Polaroids; this encounter and loss of scale compose an entirely different image, a "third photograph".The absence of binding does however allow the reader to go back to the original image and to trace his own path through the book.
