Kippenberger’s series of books Endlich 1-3 (Finally 1-3) was published to accompany the 1986 exhibition “Gib mir das Sommerloch” (Give me the Silly Season) at the Galerie Erhard Klein in Bonn. Kippenberger described the “spoils” of his journey to Brazil with the subtitle “The Magical Misery Tour. Brazil December 15, 1985-March 12, 1986.” Endlich 1 documents the results of 224 games of Mau-Mau Kippenberger played while in Brazil. Endlich 2 consists of 34 photographs taken in December and January of his visit. Endlich 3 contains illustrations of two editions - “Copa und Ipa” and “Young Beach Believers” - as well as a series of images entitled “Vorfreude seitenverkehrt: Ich muß zuhause bleiben” and illustrations of two hats created while in Brazil.
