ART AS ART: THE SELECTED WRITINGS OF AD REINHARDT edited by Barbara Rose
The Viking Press, 1975 First edition, 253 pp., 5 3/4" X 8 1/4" Hardcover
Very good
Rose, in the introduction suggests that Reinhardt's ultimate value is as 'a prophet of the realization that high art can only endure as spiritual art.' Well, maybe, but his copious writings are also exuberant, ironic, rancorous and parodistic and, as such, a marvelous commentary of the recent art world. - from the back cover
